Airgreets – growing the Market for Serviced Home Sharing in Frankfurt

Airgreets is a Munich Startup that has part of the team in Frankfurt, sitting at the TechQuartier, providing a full-service package for home sharers in Germany. Indeed, we have interviewed Florian Bogenschütz before as you can find here: https://station-frankfurt.de/2017/04/04/dieses-startup-nimmt-airbnb-gastgebern-die-arbeit-ab/
We met again, to review what started as a small idea in Munich in summer 2016, and has rapidly expanded to six German cities.
We discovered that in Frankfurt and Rhein-Main area, the success is also visible. The project has managed over 5.000 guests so far and is proud of having an average occupancy rate above 70%.
Do you need more arguments to trust your propriety to them?
Well, the average income made per night for the host in Frankfurt is around €60-80. So maybe it´s a very interesting solution to monetize your propriety when you are on business travel, holidays or if you have spare rooms.

What Airgreets offer is the entire management of the Airbnb hosting process with a top service both for host and travelers.
The three Airgreets founders Florian Bogenschütz, Sebastian Drescher and Julian Ritter would have loved such a service during their previous jobs as business travelers. Their apartments had been empty for many days a month. “We would have loved to rent out our places while traveling but simply didn´t have the time for it and were not physically there to assist the guests”, says Sebastian Drescher. “Being a good host goes far beyond creating a listing on Airbnb. It includes a continuous management of your online calendar, reliable and precise guest communication, the actual on-site key exchange and cleaning. All those tasks are time-consuming, require physical presence as well as hosting knowledge”, Sebastian adds. The three founders had no chance to take care of all those activities themselves while traveling so their homes were empty.
Airgreets is backed by Carolin Sandfort. The former Head of Marketing of Airbnb Germany strongly believes in the service addition to Airbnb’s home sharing offering. “Services like Airgreets will gain importance quickly, since they provide people access to the sharing economy that could otherwise, due to their absence, not participate.”
Feedback of hosts is positive throughout the portfolio, although the legal situation is often considered unclear. Especially the topic around the withdrawal of living space through commercial Airbnb letting has been causing uproars in Germany. Airgreets, however, is clearly focusing on the Home Sharing side. “Our hosts live in their apartments themselves and only rent them out during their own travels”, Sebastian elaborates.
Airgreets has a clear vision and will invest in growth and technological enhancements of their product over the next months. „We are the pioneer for Serviced Home Sharing in Germany and plan to establish ourselves as the leading provider in that space”, Julian Ritter comments confidently.
The start-up already has 15 employees, in addition to numerous Greeters and Cleaners.
