Podcasts as a media outlet are rapidly gaining mainstream popularity and are experiencing a fresh surge in popularity in Germany. Podcasts are personal, accompanying their consumers everywhere; a third of Germans listen to them regularly. Apart from the entertainment and information value for the listener, the podcast is also interesting as a digital marketing tool for companies. It offers the opportunity to generate relatively simple, interesting and valuable content that is highly relevant for the specific and niche target groups. In this way, new customers from specific segments can be reached, the brand image strengthened and the community expanded. There are many reasons for a business to take a closer look at the podcast phenomenon.

For the ninth edition of Laptop & Leibchen we look forward to welcoming Daniel Sprügel, Founder & Owner of Sports Maniac – THE German-speaking sports business podcast with a focus on digital trends and innovations. In addition to Sports Maniac, Daniel advises brands, media, personalities and sports organisations on their audio strategy and produces podcast formats such as “Mach’s wie ich” (Deutsche Bahn), “Phrasenmäher” (BILD) or “Beyond Victory” (Nico Rosberg). Additionally, we are very happy to welcome THE HR sports reporter and co-host of the famous Eintracht Frankfurt podcast “Fußball2000”, Philipp Hofmeister.His live reports have delighted Eintracht fans for years – for example, Philipp Hofmeister turned Luka Jovic into “Luka Torvic” and Haris Seferovic into “Haris Legendärovic”. Recently he was awarded the “Herbert-Zimmermann-Prize”. “Hofmeister’s reports are pure emotion”, the jury explained.
